ITALY-MYANMAR: “ITALY-MYANMAR BUSINESS ASSOCIATION” LAUNCHED IN YANGON

The new “Italy-Myanmar Business Association” based in Yangon has been launched on 15 January 2020 during a networking event hosted by the Ambassador of Italy, Alessandra Schiavo. Many representatives of the Chambers of Commerce of other Countries and of Myanmar itself, diplomats, local, international and Italian entrepreneurs attended the gathering and exchanged contacts and ideas for further collaborations. The Business Association – which follows the one already existing in Turin – is made up of businesspeople and professionals of Italian and Burmese nationalities and is open also to citizens of other States interested in fostering the bilateral relationships between Italy and the Union of Myanmar in the fields of trade and investment. Among the initiatives that will be held in 2020 with the support of the Italian Embassy in Yangon, a series of B2B meetings are scheduled on the occasion of Italian Expo 2020, a multi-sectoral exhibition event that will be organized on October the 8th-10th in Yangon by the Italian firm Prometeo.
