OBOE PIANO CONCERT – GREAT ITALIAN MUSIC IN YANGON

On January 31st our concert “When oboe meets piano” inaugurated the “2020 Cultural Season” promoted and organized by our Embassy in Yangon.
The initiative is part of a series of events designed to present the Burmese public with a rich and differentiated panorama of Italian music.
Masters Alberto Firrincieli and Arnaldo de Felice (the latter is also a composer) performed selected pieces from the mid-seventeenth century, with Marcello and Scarlatti, passing through the eighteenth century with Cimarosa, and the nineteenth century with Ponchielli, to arrive at nowadays with Morricone.
Such a “musical excursus” was very appreciated by the local public, who follows with interest the activities of the Embassy and its commitment to broaden the cultural landscape in Yangon.
In the aftermath of this first concert of the year, both Italian Masters held master classes for Burmese music students, as part of the program “Italy for Talent in Myanmar” launched by the Embassy in 2019.
