Show-cooking of tagliatelle, orecchiette, gnocchi, pizza, the ongoing mozzarella making on the spot, the masterclass on Tuscan wines and the “pizza school” for children: these were some of the most appreciated moments of the second edition of the Italian Food Festival which on 23 February 2020 attracted nearly 3,800 people to the garden of the Residence of the Italian Embassy in Myanmar.
The Chief Minister of the Yangon Region, U Phyo Min Thein, has participated in this initiative and was welcomed and accompanied to the various stands by Ambassador Alessandra Schiavo.
Twenty stakeholders took part in the initiative: from some Italian brands worldwide renowned to the best Italian restaurants in Yangon, in addition to representatives of the GDO and smaller local distributors or importers of Italian food and wine.
In addition to the many activities organized to entertain kids and adults alike (among which also an oenology competition), the young and talented composer Corrado Neri played piano, guitar and ukulele accompanied by the singer Federica Contarino.
The success of the initiative was also due to the wide coverage in the local press and on social media.
