The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation offers grants for translations of literary works and for the production, dubbing and subtitling in foreign languages of short films, films and TV-series.
Applications can be submitted by publishers, translators, producing/distribution/dubbing/subtitling firms, cultural entities and literary agents and agencies.
Applications for grants may be submitted for translation into a foreign language of Italian fiction and non-fiction works to be published not before 1st August 2025.
Applications for grants may also be submitted for production, dubbing or subtitling into a foreign language of short films, films and TV-series to be released not before 1st August 2025.
Applicants are required to use the specific application form to be sent to the Embassy of Italy in Yangon at the e-mail address yangon.culturale@esteri.it, by 7 April 2025.
Grants application relating to a work already published, distributed, translated or dubbed on or before the date of the application, or the publication of which is foreseen before 1st August 2025 or before the completion of the awarding procedure, will not be taken into consideration.
Moreover, applications may not require a grant equal to or greater than the cost of the whole project. The grant should not be a binding condition for the fulfilment of the translation, distribution, production, publication, dubbing and subtitling of the work. Grant applications for works already awarded grants by other Italian institutions will not be considered.
